CSC200Y: Course Computing

CDF: Computing Facility

While the course requires no programming, course accounts have been created for all students in CSC200 at the Department of Computer Science Computing Disciplines Facility (CDF). For further details, see the Computing Disciplines Facility (CDF) web page.

Course Accounts

Course accounts have been created for all students in the course who do not already have CDF acounts. You can look up your account name here. Your password is initially your student number; you will be required to change it the first time you log in. If you ever forget your password, you can change it using the above URL.

Lab Locations

CDF labs can be found in BA2210, BA2220, BA2240, BA3175, BA3185, BA3195 and the Great Hall. Some of these labs have closed lab hours dedicated to specific courses, so please check the CDF web page for more information on lab locations. There is also a lab in the Gerstein Science Information Centre (at the Sigmund Samuel Library, 7 Kings College Circle) in room 2360 at the north end of the second floor. To enter one of the labs you will need to swipe your T-Card through the card reader that is installed outside of each door. (You can also use your T-Card to get into the building itself.)

Computing on your own

There is (at this time) no specific need to use CDF labs or accounts. Any software we ask you to experiment with will be accessible through the web or can be installed on your own personal machines. We will provide details as they arise here and/or on the CSC200 Resources page.
