Overview
Welcome to the course webpage for the fall 2009 term of CSC369H, Operating Systems. The course covers the operating system as a control program and resource allocator; processes, threads, and concurrency; memory management; file systems; and protection.
Many of the concepts covered in this course recur in other systems that need to provide concurrency and resource management - database systems are a prime example. CSC369 provides the basic framework for further study in operating systems (CSC469) and database systems (CSC443).
Make sure to read and understand the course information sheet for your section. Check the discussion board frequently to make sure you receive any course announcements.
