How do I get an Account
If you are an undergraduate student and are enrolled in one of the Computer Science specialist, major or minor programs at the St. George campus, you are entitled to a "program" account at CDF. You must apply for your program account on-line. You will be able to use your account while you remain in an eligible program, even during periods you are not taking a course.
Graduate students are not eligible for program accounts on CDF; they should see their graduate supervisor to get an account on a research system (eg. CSlab/ECE/EECG).
Scarborough and Mississauga students should consult with their campus Computer Science office about the availability of program accounts.
Program Accounts If you'd like to obtain a program CDF account, you have come to the right place.
At the beginning of each HTTPS request, CDF's web server sends your browser its public encryption key as part of the security certificate. Among other data, the certificate contains signature of a Certificate Authority (CA) that certifies that this public key indeed belongs to CDF's web server. Upon verification of both the server's, and the CA's certificates, you browser can be ``sure'' that the secure connection can be trusted.
One further note. In order to use the system you need to have cookies enabled in the browser. Most browsers accept cookies by default, so if you haven't disabled that feature, you don't need to do anything to enable it.
Now you can proceed to request a program account.
